I Now Understand Paul alot better

No one can untill it happens to them or someone that you love. But Friday Night, on my to Tallhasse, I was in a serious car accident. My friend was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital. His injuries could have been prevented if he were wearing a SEATBELT!!! He was, untill the 1 min. when he wasnt, and thats when the accident happened. I was and escaped with only a few cuts, and a sore back. But if I could trade places with my friend, i would in a heartbeat. But my friend is about to undergoe surgery to repair his jaw, and I just ask that you all keep him in your prayers, hopes, thoughts, etc... I spent the weekend with him in the hospital and he has been conscious, alert, talking and joking, but tonight he is expected in the OR and we will know more after the surgery.
Saturday night I re-listened to the segment when Paul called in to talk about what happened to his wife, and I could not stop crying because I know it could have been so much worse. The other driver passed away in Gina's accident, and we are all fortunate to be alive today. But I am writing this for a reason, and Im sure as a former police officer, Bruce knows what Im talking about. YOU HAVE TO WEAR YOUR SEATBELT, if it wasnt for the seatbelt i would definatley not be here right now to write this. But my friend and I are fortunate and we know it, and am looking forward to listening to todays show and frogetting (at least for a little bit) about all this crap!

That sucks David. I'm glad you're ok, and I'll keep your buddy in my prayers. I know where you're coming from too. When I was 17 I skidded on some black ice, and to avoid oncoming traffic I slammed into a snowbank and turned my brother's car upside down. Luckily I was alone and thanks to my seatbelt I came out completely unscathed. Since then I won't move the car unless everyone is belted in. I hope you and your friend feel better real soon.

I sure do hope all goes well with your friend tonight. My thoughts and prayers are out there for you and your friend. You're definitly right about those seatbelts.

Thanks for asking Bruce-he is doing much better. His surgery was a sucess, but since then his jaw has been wired, and will have to be like that for another 3 and half weeks. No internal injuries (thank god), and just about 80 stitches which Im happy to say were recently taken out.
