chicken wings, boxing matches, and lots of beers

so friday night i met up with soren and bruce (and soren's coworkers)
at WingsPlus in ft lauderdale. it was great to finally meet the guy we
call blautens. we ate a large amount of what i think are the best wings
in broward county (much much better than hooters) and a couple pitchers
of a tasty belgian brew, then we headed over to xtremeindoorkarting for
some pro boxing events. we were supposed to meet OMG there, and even
though i know he was there (cuz the big105 van was out front) we
couldnt find him in the crowd. not really surprising, i mean, you try
finding a dwarf in a crowd. lol.
we headed into the bar at the track, and proceeded to decrease the
blood in our alcohol system. after a few games of pool, we decided to
head somewhere more peaceful. the most peaceful spot i know is the deck
in my back yard. after a pitstop at 7-11 to pick up a 12 pack, we got
to my place and just chilled out til around 2AM. bruce headed home, and
my daughter (who was slighty enamored with soren's workmate daniel) and
i dropped soren and crew back at their hotel.
overall, it was a very fun-filled evening, and i'm very happy to have
been a part of soren's trip to south florida. i hope bruce and soren
enjoyed the evening as well.

We had the best time last night, Doug. We enjoyed seeing and experienceing the American culture so up close and personal as we did. We loved going or a ride in Bruce's muscle car, eating good wings, being at the place where the actual boxing fight shown live on ESPN 2 took place, sitting on your deck drinking beers and being driven home safely by your daughter (Daniel says hi, by the way).
Tonight we got another piece of American culture going to South Beach, eating at Joe's Stone Crab and ending a perfect day with a not so perfect ending to the Heat vs. 76'ers game at Triple A.
We're leaving tomorrow and I realize that I have to get back here soon. I just love the area so much.
See you guys on the chat on Tuesday.

Man it sounds like you guys tore it up. I so woulda been out with you guys.
What confuses me about all this is... Bruce has a muscle car? No. Computer guys don't have muscle cars. They have Nissan Versas. What kinda car?

it's the SS version of the Chevy SUV. it has the ZR1 Corvette motor in it.

Agreed - I had a very good time. Wings and beer were tasty, and a little bit of American culture. Soren's friends gave up at least one (if not two) games of pool because they felt sorry for me. Great to meet Soren and Doug. Doug was very nice to let us trapse into his house to late at night. Sorry about all the work related interruptions. I look forward to next time.
