jenners was fired from 99x today.
Five bucks says Paul kicks him while he's down or at least gives some sort of arrogant speech.

that sucks, i feel really bad for him. anyone have any more details on that? it seems alot of people in radio recently have been getting fired. Up here in Orlando CBS just got rid of O Rock 105.9 for a big 1059/majic 1027 hybrid type station. But from what i read in the orlando sentinel, the clear channel rock station now has a morning show vacancy. Could theis be Paul and Young Ron Expanding?? i can only hope

Jenners should have taken Paul's offer a year and a half ago... that morning X show never really did it for me. I've listened to it a couple of times and it seemed that the chemistry amongst the show members was way off. It's tough to make something good when the chemistry isn't there.
Luckily there's nothing but good chemistry between all the show members on the Paul and Young Ron Show these days, so I guess we're blessed to be P&YR fans, right? ;-)

He'll land on his feet. Losing your job is part of radio, and you can't take it personally or worry about it. I'd love to see the boy back on the P&YR show.
The 99x show never did anything for me, but it would be a shame for the station to change format, but rumor has it that's what Cumulus is going to do. Just more evidence that corporations are ruining radio.

its not corporations ruining radio, its media changing. I'm friends with two guys on a local Fox News AM station here, one guy who does the morning news, the other who does the afternoon drive show. They both say that things like satellite radio and the MAJOR popularity of ipods is whats ruining radio. Especially with cars now being ipod friendly, people dont need radio anymore. Its sad. I hate ipods and listen exclusively to radio in the car.

I'd modify my statement - corporations are ruining MUSIC radio. Radio can still provide instant, current, relevant, news, commentary & humor. But it's not hard to see how corporate programming works hand in hand with the contemptuous RIAA to reduce our music choices. The days of the late, great WZTA and WSHE - with REAL PDs doing the playlist - are over. And they were over back in the 1970's, sadly.
Kudos for RadioHead (not my favorite band - but I applaud what they're doing) for moving to online distribution with their "unique" payment options on their latest album.
