what happened to van to van halen

Did they ever do this bit? There was so much Talk about the Van to Van Halen, getting it together, finding people to go with, etc. Did it ever happen? Did I just miss it?

i asked OMG about it a while ago, and he said there was a lot of 'legal issues' involved with it. they just kinda let it die off quietly.
