Who do I know famous?
Posted by Jamie Q. on Oct 13 2007 8:38 PM
I'm getting prepared for the annual Who Do You Know Famous contest and I'm asking all you guys for help. There are two celebrities who I am sure I can have call in for me. I'm just not sure at this point in time who is more famous and I don't know if Paul and Ron allow two calls on behalf of one person. So here are my two choices:
Wayne Gretzky
or
Howie Mandel
Personally I would rather have Wayne Gretzky call in but then again I'm a crazy hockey lovin' Canadian. I just worry who would be considered more famous by Paul and Ron. I have a feeling Paul would pick Gretzky seeing as he lived for a bit in New York, a major hockey town, and he's a sports fan. Ron, however, would probably pick Howie since he's a TV fan. What do you all think? I really REALLY want that Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp trip.

Go Gretzky.
Howie's reasonably big now, with Deal or No Deal, but Gretzky's got staying power. Might even get you in the Top 3.

im not even remotely interested in this years prize. i play the drums(i have a 10pc kit) but a guitar camp doesnt sound like alot of fun. i wouldnt mind meeting some of the stars that are going to be there, but it sounds like there wont be a lot of 1 on 1 time with them.
good luck tho, jamie

I agree, I'm not feeling this year's prize that much, either. Don't get me wrong, those are some pretty big names attending, but I'm a relatively young guy and these are basically a generation above me. I like listening to their songs, but spending a whole week with them? I don't know. Is having Joe Walsh or Slash telling you that you suck at playing the drums really all that fun?
Plus it's in Las Vegas, and Las Vegas blows.
I'd much rather the Bridge Suite at Atlantis or that hotel in Costa Rica (or wherever it was) they had last year.

You live in Florida but you'd rather be on the beach? That is LAME!! If Slash or Jow Walsh said that I sucked I'd be like "Too bad, you still gotta jam with me, sucka!" Besides I don't suck at drums so I'll have a wicked time playing with them. And if it gets boring we hit the strip clubs.

Though I have to agree last year's prize, Cayo Espanto, might have been preferable.

Problem is, Slash, Joe Walsh, Vince Neil--those guys could be my dad's age. If I were 10-15 years older, I could see myself getting a lot more excited about the possibility.
Plus, the beach never gets old. Never.

Meh. I figure why bother getting sand in my crack doing something that millions upon millions of people do every year, especially if you live near a beach, when I could be hanging out with some of the best rockers in history and jam with them. I'm very not the beach type so I say screw the beach. I'd rather jam with legends and do something only less than a hundred people will do this year.
